Today, the Pre-Trial Chamber of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia commenced three days of hearings in Case 003 against MEAS Muth.
The hearing began with a public introduction by the President of the Chamber, followed by the public reading of a case report, which set out the relevant facts and procedural history of Case 003, as well as the details of the Appeals currently before the Chamber. This report, issued on behalf of the whole Pre-Trial Chamber, has been placed on the Case File.

The remainder of the session took place in camera, during which the National and International Co-Prosecutors presented their arguments on appeal. The hearing will continue on 28 and 29 November 2019, in accordance with the Scheduling Order issued on 24 October 2019.
