Mr. NETH Pheaktra, Chief of Public Affairs Section, welcomed 425 teachers from Preah Sihanouk Province

Mr. NETH Pheaktra, chief of Public Affairs section and the press officer of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC), welcomed 425 teachers from Preah Sihanouk province organized by the Royal Government Working Group to the Preah Sihanouk province, March 16, 2023, at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, while the teachers visited to learn about the crimes taking place in the Democratic Kampuchea regime, especially the crimes committed in the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former security centre and a Khmer Rouge secret prison.

During the reception, the chief of Public Affairs also briefs to the teachers on the achievements of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (Khmer Rouge Tribunal) and the causes of the trial: from the rescuing the nation and the people, bringing complete peace, and prosecuting to those responsible for crimes and providing justice to the victims. He added that teachers play an important role in disseminating knowledge related to the history of Democratic Kampuchea, as well as the trial proceedings held before the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia to participate in the preventing a brutal regime like the Khmer Rouge regime return to Cambodia again.

The Khmer Rouge Tribunal organizes the outreach study tours and briefs on the trial processing on the former senior leaders and those responsible for the Khmer Rouge regime to students, youth, and the public to promote the remembrance and participating in preventing the return of the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia again. Since the beginning of court proceedings to 2023, more than half a million national and international public have participated in the study tour coordinated by the Public Affairs Section of the Khmer Rouge Tribunal.
