ECCC Continues to Disseminate Its Achievements and Legacies Through the Mobile Resource Center at Chaktomuk Conference Hall

On May 15, 2024, the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC), through ECCC Mobile Resource Center (ECCC bus), continues to disseminate its achievement and legacy for publics at Chaktomuk Conference Hall in Phnom Penh.

His Excellency Tony Kranh, Secretary of State of the Office of the Council of Ministers and Acting Director of Administration of the ECCC, stated that today is the second events that ECCC has disseminated its achievements and legacies through the mobile Resource Center. He added that ECCC wants students the publics to see and learn about the ECCC achievements and be able to check and research numerous documents in ECCC archive. He continued that in the ECCC mobile Resource Center program as today, there are ECCC officials waiting to guide and brief everyone on the related trial processing and the way to access the ECCC archive.

"Students, professors, and scholars should study and comprehend the more than two million pages of documents of the Khmer Rouge tribunal in order to take advantage of those documents to be used as references or to compile law books or history books," His Excellency Tony Kranh stated.  

ECCC mobile Resource Center is fully equipped with the latest technologies, such as laptops, projectors, interactive TV screen for presentations, playing video of documentation, education and multimedia contents." Said H.E. Tony. He added that “this mobile Center will travel throughout Cambodia of the 25 provinces and will stop at many locations such as schools, universities, crime sites and towns.

About 70 students and other public participated in today outreach program to join the presentations from ECCC officials regarding the trial process, inter-generational dialogue on the Vietnamese genocide, explore the photo exhibition, find out about the trial archives, and watch the screening of educational films on the Khmer Rouge atrocities.

Today is the second outreach program where the first program was conducted in the park in front of Wat Botum Vatey, Phnom Penh. As planned, ECCC will continue to hold its third outreach event on Friday evening, May 17, in the park in front of the Phnom Penh Night Market, where students and the general public can freely participate.
