Closing Order

<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; "><span style="color: black; ">Once the investigation of a case before the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC)has been concluded, the Co-Investigating Judges will issue a written judicial decision, called a Closing Order. The Closing Order will either contain an indictment, sending the case for trial, or dismiss a case for lack of evidence or jurisdiction. In case of dismissal, the judicial proceedings in that case will end.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; "><span style="color: black; "><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></span></p><p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; "><span style="color: black; ">The Co-Prosecutors can file an appeal against the Closing Order to the Pre-Trial Chamber. An accused person may appeal jurisdictional issues in the Closing Order.</span></p>
