ECCC Organizes outreach study tour for 232 high school students from Kampong Cham province

Today, the Extraordinary of the Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) organizes outreach study tour for 232 students Preah Sihanuk high school in Kampong Cham Province. The study tour is to give students a deeper understanding of the atrocities committed during the Dark Ages and to commemorate the victims of that regime.

In this full day study tour, the students receive a wealth of information about the history of the Kampuchea Democratic regime by visiting the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, the Killing Field, and Win Win Monument, and information on the trial of former Khmer Rouge leaders which presented by Public Affairs Officer of the Khmer Rouge Tribunal.

By learning in this study tour program, the younger generation express their appreciation and gratefulness for the win-win policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia, which has led the country to bring peace and social stability.

The students would also like to thank the Khmer Rouge Tribunal for organizing the program so that they can learn, visit the crime scene left over from the Khmer Rouge regime and see the development in Phnom Penh today.

The ECCC outreach study tour is organized weekly for students, youth, and the public, as part of the remembrance and participation in preventing the return of the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge regime.

Since the first court proceedings until January 2023, more than half a million national and international public have participated in the outreach study tours under the coordination and organization of the Public Affairs Section of the Khmer Rouge Tribunal.
